The Publishing Story: Real Life Theology

Jason Henderson and Bobby Harrington of Renew.org came to us with a major task: to help them edit, design, and publish a lay-person’s systematic theology—in twelve volumes, plus a collection of all twelve into one book!

While they had an editorial director on staff, they wanted additional editing input for this important set of resources. Plus, they needed help creating a metabrand for this series of books. That is, they needed us to not only create a cover but twelve covers that looked good together, yet had unique elements.

Specific Services We Provided

So we helped them with:

  • Total project management
  • Macro-editing, copyediting, and proofreading
  • Series cover design (designed the main book’s cover)
  • Individual books cover design (front, back, and spine)
  • Interior design and typesetting
  • eBook formatting

At each step of the way, we guided the team on elements like trim size, interior design features, and how to edit in a consistent way books from various authors for a niche audience.

We helped Renew publish Real Life Theology on 17 September 2021 for readers around the world, which has helped fuel their mission to renew the teachings of Jesus in a way the fuels disciple making.

We appreciated in these books, the diversity of authors and writing styles, the comprehensive nature of the task, and the strategic vision of this book.

And we’re grateful for their kind endorsement: “YouPublish is our go-to partner for publishing assistance. From editing and proofreading to layout and design, Chad and his team do an outstanding job at their craft. They provide reasonable prices, attention to detail, and loyalty to deadlines—they’ve never let us down.”

Real-Life Answers to Life’s Biggest Questions

Real Life Theology invites you to a fresh way of living by bridging two areas of your life: what we know about God and how we live our lives. This collection of thirteen accessible books gives real-life answers to fifty-two of life’s biggest questions, such as: What is the gospel? What is saving faith? What role does baptism play in salvation? What are the essential, important, and personal elements of the faith? How should we view marriage, gender, and race?

Real Life Theology was written with everyday Christians in mind. We encourage you to read it, walk with others through it, and along the way learn God’s real-life answers to your biggest questions.

This series will help churches in their training of pastoral staff as well as the everyday disciple maker in your church or ministry.
